Preparation tips  
Great paint jobs are built on strong foundations. Prep patiently and methodically. You'll be glad you did.These simple tips can help. 
                                                                                                                                       
1. Plan the paint job and work out the details, e.g. rooms to be painted, colours to be used, the quantity of paint you need, painting sequence, etc.

2. Prepare all the tools like stepladder and enough paints                                            

3. Wear suitable clothes 
   -Choose clothes that you will not mind even if they are stained 
   -If your clothes are stained by paint, wash them immediately with clean water. The stain will be more difficult to remove when dried

4. Before cleaning painted walls and start the new paint job, open all windows to have good ventilation

5. If you are wearing glasses or eye masks, cover the lens with transparent tape to protect from stain

6. Move and cover the furniture 
   -Move all the furniture to the middle of the room, cover them with plastic sheet or newspaper and fix with masking tape 
   -Remove all the decorations on the wall or mask the edges with masking tape 
   -Cover the floor or carpet with plastic sheet or newspaper 
   -Unload the curtain to avoid being stained

7. Loosen the faceplate or mounting box of sockets and switches so that you can paint the wall behind. Before losing the faceplate or mounting box, remember to cut off the power supply to prevent electric shock

8. Clean all the wax on the walls to be painted, as the wax will affect the adhesiveness of the paint. Wax is usually found at the edges of waxed floor or skirting board

9. Preparing new brushes and rollers 
   -For brushes, rub the brushes softly and remove the loosen bristles before use 
   -For rollers, use adhesive tape to remove the loosen hairs before use

10. Mix the paints thoroughly 
     -If you are using more than one pot of paint in the same colour, mix them together in a larger container in case of slight colour variations 
     -To obtain best result, you can use a clean flat stick to stir the paints thoroughly

11. Before you start painting, read the instructions on the paint cans and make sure you have carried out all the necessary preparation works

12. If you intend to use wallpaper, finish all the paint works first and allow the paint to dry thoroughly
